Get in, guys, we’re building a busines
For the last decade, I've built businesses from the ground up.
I've launched companies, scaled them, sold them, and spent the last several years helping other entrepreneurs do the same. Creating something from nothing has always been the work that excites me most.
So naturally...
I'm doing it again.
But this time, I'm doing it differently.
This podcast is my real-time documentation of building a brand-new business from scratch—and I'm bringing you along for every decision, mistake, success, and pivot.
Whether it becomes a thriving company or a spectacular flop, you'll get to watch the process unfold exactly as it happens.
Why Start Another Business?
For the past few years, my focus has been on helping other business owners.
I've worked with entrepreneurs who were launching their first company, scaling existing businesses, or completely reinventing what they had already built.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I was missing the feeling of creating something of my own.
Not because I needed another business.
Because I genuinely love the process.
There is something incredibly satisfying about taking an idea that only exists in your head and slowly turning it into something real.
That's the part I can't seem to stay away from.
This Time, There Are Rules
I've learned a lot over the last ten years.
One of the biggest lessons?
Building a business shouldn't require sacrificing your entire life.
I've worked hard to build a career that gives me flexibility, boundaries, and time with my family. I'm not interested in throwing all of that away just to prove I can build another company.
So before I started, I gave myself two non-negotiable rules.
Rule #1: Limited Time
This business has to fit into my life—not take it over.
I'm capping myself at 4–5 hours per week.
That means every decision matters.
Every task has to earn its place.
As someone with ADHD and a tendency to hyperfocus, this might actually be the hardest part of the entire experiment.
Rule #2: Limited Budget
I'm also intentionally keeping startup costs as low as possible.
Not because I have to.
Because I want to.
Most entrepreneurs don't have unlimited money to invest in an idea. They have to be strategic about every purchase, every subscription, and every contractor they hire.
I want this business to reflect that reality.
Every dollar should move the business forward.
Why I'm Sharing the Process
One of the biggest myths about entrepreneurship is that successful businesses are built by people with unlimited time and unlimited resources.
That simply isn't true.
Most people are:
Working full-time jobs.
Raising families.
Managing existing businesses.
Trying to build something on evenings and weekends.
Those constraints don't make success impossible.
They simply force better decisions.
Throughout this series, I'll be sharing exactly how I make those decisions—from naming the business to branding, product development, pricing, manufacturing, marketing, and everything in between.
I'll share what works.
I'll share what doesn't.
And I'll show you the real numbers whenever I can.
Think of This as an Experiment
I honestly don't know how this story ends.
Maybe this turns into another successful business.
Maybe it grows into something much bigger than I expect.
Or maybe three months from now I'll decide the idea isn't worth pursuing anymore.
Every one of those outcomes is valuable.
Because entrepreneurship isn't about pretending every idea becomes a unicorn.
It's about learning how to test ideas intelligently, minimize risk, and know when to keep going—or when to walk away.
That's exactly what this series is about.
What's Coming Next
Over the next several episodes, I'll take you behind the scenes as I build this business from the ground up.
We'll cover topics like:
Choosing a business name
Creating the brand identity
Product development
Manufacturing
Pricing strategy
Marketing decisions
Website development
Sales
Mistakes and pivots
The real costs of building a business
Nothing is scripted.
Nothing is staged.
You'll see the process exactly as it happens.
One Last Hint...
I'm still keeping the business itself a secret...
But I'll leave you with the same clue I shared in the podcast:
It's something I once said I'd never do again.
We'll see how that turns out.
